Tasty Masala Besan French toast

Ingredients
  

For the Besan Mixture
  • 100 g Gram flour (besan)
  • ¾ cup Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon Garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon Red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Chili flakes
  • Water as needed
For the Peanut-Coriander Mixture
  • 1 cup Fresh chopped coriander
  • 15 g Dry mango (amchur)
  • ¼ cup Peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Water as needed
For Assembly
  • 4 slices Whole-wheat bread
  • 4 teaspoons Oil

Method
 

  1. For the peanut-coriander mixture, grind the coriander, dry mango, peanuts, salt and a little water into a coarse chutney. Set aside.
  2. For the besan batter, combine the gram flour, chopped onion, garam masala, red chili powder, salt and chili flakes in a bowl.
  3. Add water gradually and whisk to a smooth batter of coating consistency.
  4. Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Dip each bread slice into the besan batter, coating both sides evenly.
  6. Place the coated slices on the pan and cook until the underside is golden and crisp.
  7. Drizzle a little oil around the edges, flip, and cook the other side until golden.
  8. Repeat with the remaining slices.
  9. Serve hot with the peanut-coriander chutney on the side.
